NO-GI GRAPPLING

& WRESTLING

Our classes for men & children will teach you grapple, thrown, trip, as well as pinning and submitting your opponent on the ground.

 what you can expect:

What is No-GI?

'No Gi' Jiu Jitsu is the ground-fighting martial art (without the kimono) that focuses on joint locks, chokes, and takedowns. It is the science of using leverage, human body mechanics, balance, and technique to create favourable situations against a live opponent. No-Gi grappling is the practical approach to the MMA ground game.

ABOUT OUR CLASSES

Each class begins with a vigorous conditioning warm up, focusing on movements and stretches to get you ready for the drills, techniques and sparring ahead.

A typical no-gi grappling session can consist of any of the following, submission attacks and escapes, takedowns, fight situation scenarios & MMA based drills.

We would encourage complete beginners to try our Fundamental BJJ classes before attending a no-gi grappling session. Check out our class schedule for classes.

equipment

As stated in the name, a No-Gi grappling class is carried without the traditional BJJ gi.

All you will need to start, are shorts and a t-shirt, as well as ensuring fingernails and toenails are cut short.
(For the safety of others, please avoid wearing clothing that have zips, buttons and pockets.)

Due to the close nature of the art we would recommend wearing a rash-guard, spats and no-gi shorts. all of which can be ordered at club reception.

Who can attend?

We have classes for Men & Children. Please ensure you contact the centre to check for class availability prior to signing up online.
