Muay Thai is a combat sport that originated in Thailand and is the national sport of Thailand. Muay Thai is also known as the “art of 8 limbs” as you use your fists, shins, knees and elbows for striking, along with clinching techniques, making it one of the most effective and respected martial arts in the world.

Class Format Classes are taught by female qualified instructors. Sessions start with an intense cardio conditioning warm up. This is then followed by technique drills, pad work, sparring and further conditioning exercises. Classes are mixed abilities for ages 8-14. Girls are graded every term following a structured syllabus offering progression and development. Opportunities are also available for entry and participation in external competitions and tournaments. Due to health and safety parents are not allowed to remain on the premises, once a session has started. Your Equipment Your daughter will receive her Muay Thai kit on signing up. This includes shin guards and gloves. We recommend you purchase a suitable sports bag or rucksack for your child to carry these in. Appropriate workout clothes are required. (e.g.: leggings, joggers and T-shirt) It is important to stay hydrated. We advise you to bring a bottle of water alternatively you can purchase water at 313Fitness for 50p.
